Recently CRASH 3 collaborators published the results of their large double blind randomized clinical trial (RCT) done across 175 hospitals regarding the use of tranexamic acid in isolated traumatic brain injuries (TBI)1 . 12,737 adults with a mean age of 41.7 years (SD 19.0) were randomized to receive either a standardized regimen of tranexamic acid (TXA) (loading dose 1 g over 10 min then infusion of 1 g over 8 h) (6406 patients) or an identical placebo (6331 patients).
